| Personal History | Born on the SS Ortem an Andorian Mercantile Vessel, Tieria has been piloting since she was born. From a young age her family had recognized that she had difficulties with arithmetic and went to great lengths to have her tutored so that she could enhance her natural piloting skills. Raised mostly in space she isn't fond of planetary life or 'real' gravity. Growing up on a ship was fun for the most part. She and her siblings and the other children on the ship all had assigned jobs and would get tutored in the basic education requirements required by the UFP and the Andorian Empire. At a young age Tieria would like to sit in the lap of the pilot and try to fly the Ortem herself. From then on Niala would give piloting lessons to her. At the age of 12 Tieria was able to fly shuttles on her own and with the guidance system she was able to pilot the ship. At the age of 15 the crew of the Ortem was attacked by Nausicaan pirates who had managed to bored the ship. Several people were killed and Tieria killed a few of the raiders herself. The incident left her scarred though she has been able to manage it. Constantly working on a vessel and learning about the various systems and subsystems made her crave for more. Bored of her family's ship she began to research various ships from a variety of cultures. Fascinated with the awesome technology in Starfleet vessels and disappointed by the lack of Andorian officers, Tieria applied for Starfleet Academy and passed her entrance exam with flying colors. Academy life for her was pretty regular. She aced all her piloting courses, struggled with anything involving arithmetic though thankfully her Vulcan roommate tutored him. She was the Academy fencing champion and even won a Bat'leth tournement. Her piloting skills served her well during her Kobayashi Maru and her training cruise. She graduated 3rd in class. |
