General Overview		Ruby loves her job, and she loves her off-time. She spends time in the lounge and will often be found singing karaoke or dancing. She's a social creature who values her privacy.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Strengths: Has a lot of energy. Works hard. Enjoys her job. Good with people. Cheerful (usually). Weaknesses: She's latina and thus can be a bit excessive. She has a temper when riled and can love too much. Her love of music and dancing can give people the wrong impression. While she loves people, she is very selective and is not as frivolous or loose as she may appear. When she's upset, she can get angry or burst into tears. This comes from being hispanic. Generally, it's because she cares too much.
Ambitions		Right now, she simply loves her life. She is aware that she's getting older (as her mother often tells her) and so would not mind getting married and raising a family--as long as she can do it while working. With Starfleet, she believes she can have it all.
Hobbies & Interests		Music and dancing, mostly. She plays the guitar, dances flamenco, Latin Ballroom, and native Mexican dances. She also sings Mariachi and Spanish love songs. She likes to bake, but usually if she gets anxious or wants to make something for a party or gathering.

Personal History		Ruby was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She loved the city and its roots in Spain, but what she loved most was the night life. She and her sister would go dancing on weekends at the local clubs and would listen to the Mariachi bands every holiday. Her father worked in metals. Sometimes he would make pieces of art, sometimes he would design a window frame or a lamp post. He liked variety. That rubbed off on Ruby. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do when she grew up, so she learned a bit about anything that caught her interest. She was especially interested in what made things go. She took apart her parents' replicator when she was twelve and mostly put it back together. By sixteen, she knew enough to fix most things around the house--or look them up. Her mother worked in a bakery and would often bring home day-old break, cakes and cookies. Ruby and her sister both learned to cook, but for Ruby it was more of a hobby than a practical skill. When she finished school, her parents sat her down and went over all her options for a career. The problem was, she liked communications, transporters, replicators, turbolifts, and making little mechanical toys. Her uncle convinced her to join Starfleet because she could do most of what she enjoyed on a starship or starbase. And, if the ship allowed families, she could make little toys as well. She passed the exam her first time, but was passed over because Starfleet was trying to become more diverse and not be predominantly human. That made her angry and more determined to get in. So, she sent her resume, a list of everything she had worked on as a teenager, with appropriate certifications, and one of her mechanical toys to a dozen admirals, including the head of Starfleet Academy. The next year, she was accepted. Her knowledge and expertise were more practical than academic, but she still graduated in the top 20% of her class and was soon assigned as an operations officer and transporter specialist aboard the USS Buenos Aires.
