Lisa's first meeting with Tav

Champagne tended to taste better after a few glasses, Tavana decided. The first glass was downright lousy, but now it was not too bad. It was really only because it had alcohol in that she put herself through the initial taste. There had to be food somewhere. The aromas were there, but her height, or lack of it, did not award her the ability to look for it over the shoulders of people to find it. And of course, she couldn't shove people around. Eventually, she saw a table decked with a wide variety of delicatessen to accommodate the diversity of guests there.

As she approached, Tavana's psionic senses picked up on a telepathic conversation near her. It was not something she was used to yet and she had to deliberately screen the mental voices. That meant to turn her focus internally for a few moments. In her attempt to sort out her barriers, her eyes rested on a blond woman at the food table, making her seem to stare.

Lisa had not long finished her conversation with Day when she spotted a good looking woman who was fixated on her, as she started to wonder why that was, as she thought oO Oh boy what a sexy sassy woman, Oo as she took a sip of the cold drink that she held in her hand, she hadn't been looking for a new lover, but the question for was, did the woman like women in that way.

Their eyes caught and Tavana was pulled back to reality. The way the other woman looked at her was a little confusing and somehow she felt embarrassed. "I am sorry, did I stare at you?" she asked when she stepped closer.

"Why yes you did," replied Lisa and smiled at the young woman, she continued "I'm Lisa Creed the Chief Security officer for the Valliant, and you are?" as she asked the question to the woman in front of her, as she had got closer to her she could see how even more good looking the woman was.

This was definitely a new experience for Tavana. Did this woman find her good looking? But the fact that she met a crewmate was a positive for sure and her face relaxed in a friendly smile "I am Tavana Kolan, your ship's diplomat. I am a bit confused, do you find me ... attractive?" she asked, curiously. "I am half Betazoid, my senses do get confused at times..." she explained her question, taking another sip of the glass of champagne she held.

"Nice to meet you Tavana," replied Lisa as she looked at the Betazoid woman, she continued, " and yes I did find you attractive and still do," as she gave her a smile as she had listened to the chatter on her ear piece that she had so that her Com channel could be used to talk to that particular officer that needed to be contacted., she asked," So do you find me attractive?"

Tavana had never had such question asked of her. "No," she said shaking her head. "You are pretty, I guess, but I am not attracted to you." The diplomat kicked in when she realized she didn't want to sound rude. "I am not attracted to females," she smiled. "Are you gay?" she asked. The diplomat went to sleep again but her stomach not and she started to pile some food on a small plate. It was too small. So she started eating from it to make space for more food.

Lisa replied," Yes, I do prefer women," giving the female officer a smile, she looked back at her as she kept an eye out for any trouble but still wanting to talk to the diplomat, She asked her," Do you have anyone special?" as she knew if not maybe she could help out with her wardrobe. as she yet had to go shopping for new stuff anyway as some of her own clothes were out of date.

There was a great deal of chewing and swallowing going on before Tavana had her mouth empty enough to answer. "Sorry," she apologized for the delay. "No," she chuckled. "I am not attached to anyone," she replied. "In fact, I don't think I am really attachable.." she joked. "And you, someone special in your life?" she asked and replenished the empty mouth.

Lisa replied, "Look if I find you attractive, so will someone else," as she smiled back at Tavana, she continued," And Trust me on this with your looks they will be falling over themselves," as she took a sip of the drink, she finished," and as for your question, Not at the moment," as she knew that it would be a matter of time before she did.

Tavana just chuckled shaking her head. She had never seen herself as attractive and didn't quite know what to do with Lisa's remarks. "I have not been long enough in one place even to make real friends," she admitted. "Either working or practising or fighting." She tilted her head as she studied Lisa for a bit, as she often did when she interpreted what she sensed. It was an open gesture, nothing she tried to hide. "I like you though," she grinned.

"That's good," replied Lisa as she glanced quickly out at the dance floor and back again, she continued, "Now you have just made your first friend here," giving her a smile as she tried to make the young woman relax. she finished and don't worry if you have any trouble come see me and I'll quickly sort it out," as she was going to treat her like a kid sister.

"Thank you," Tavana grinned. "I appreciate it, I'll look out for you too..." she added, nodding towards the dance floor. "Go on, and enjoy yourself," she chuckled

"Right, I have to get back to work," replied Lisa as she tapped her new friend on the shoulder and walked off to find another spot to view the party from, but she knew that she was going to be only here without company and making friends was top of her list, apart from making this night not go Pear-shaped as she concealed herself by another Bar.
