I’ve split my officer’s into two groups to pursue leads on the Pirates, and more directly their backer. To these ends, Commander Rahl and Lieutenant Meren are to approach the trader, probable smuggler Brexis when they arrive at DS9 in ten days. Their cover is up to them but I’ve made discretionary funds and transport available to them. We’ll see how that goes. Dayna is having a crises of conscious when it comes to working for Fed Intel. Ideals versus work that actually needs to be done. Maybe it was a mistake retaining a Scientist as second in command of a Line Combat ship.
Changes might have to be made in the future. I hope not but there’s work to be done and I don’t have time for a lot of hand holding at this point. We’ll see how they handle this. It shouldn’t be overly hard to buy the information off of Brexis. The hard part might be in the convincing. But again, we’ll see how they do.
Lieutenant’s Gordon, Davi and myself will be traveling independently to the Moon of Calabris that orbits Kaldra IV. There’s an outpost there run by a Ferengi named Loj that is supposedly putting together a crew that’s going to raid a Federation Bone Yard in the Sierra Sector. The apparent plan is to liberate a handful of impounded starships for resale and Loj needs crews.
Valiant is off to the Yard’s for an indeterminate amount of time and officially, we’re all on leave with Hasty and the others running the show. Mr. Park will be in charge until they turn it over to the yard crew then he’s off on a training mission on Io. We may not get him back.
Short helm and engineering department heads is starting to make me wonder. BuPers isn’t really wanting to give up crew to a non-fleet ship, regardless that we’re supposed to be all one big happy family.
Ahh well.
