Amy and Katya agreed to meet on Empok Nor for lunch. It would be a chance for the two women to get to know each other as Amy was a little...inebriated the night before.

Katya chose a Betazed restaurant that had a variety of breads, soups, and sandwiches. Plus herb teas and chocolate. She was eager to see if the food tasted as good as it sounded. Today she chose to wear black jeans and one of her new blouses. This one was emerald green silk. She figured she might not get another chance to wear her new tops if she didn't take advantage of her time here.

Amy was there waiting, giving a wave towards Katya. She chose to wear a sapphire blue blouse, a pair of black wide leg crossover waist yoga pants. They were lounge wear, quite comfortable but looked rather good as well. "Hello there, Katya."

Katya grinned and waved back. They didn't have much of a chance to talk the night before, so she was looking forward to getting to know her new shipmate.

"That was quite the night, wasn't it?" Amy grinning from ear to ear. "I'm still sorting out what went on during the evening, though it was great fun."

A hostess came up to escort the two ladies to a table.

Amy took in a deep breath, taking in the different scents there, her mouth already watering. "Something certainly smells delicious. Looking forward to tasting the food here." following after the hostess.

"It does smell good." Katya was still fuzzy about the evening at the club, but some things were still bright and clear.

The hostess seated them and handed them menus. "Can I get you something to drink?"

"Cranberry-raspberry juice," Katya said.

"That sounds delightful, I would like that as well, on the rocks please." Amy added, "And some hot tea as well."

When the waitress left, Amy picked up the menu to have a look at what there was. "Out of curiosity, is there anything you are planning on ordering for your food? I'm at a loss here what with all that is being offered."

"I don't know. Several of the soups sound good. As do those salads. I may go with that so I can have dessert after." Katya grinned. "You can't beat Betazoid desserts."

"Ooh soup and salad with some fresh rolls with butter. That sounds great, and.. Fabulous " Amy singing out the word, "a decadent dessert. I must have something like that. It’s been a long while." Amy feeling rather eager at the upcoming meal.

That made Katya laugh. "I agree. I'm Betazoid. I find it very difficult to pass up a good dessert. So, soup, salad, and bread for dinner, then we'll see what decadence they have for dessert."

"Most definitely." Amy wholeheartedly agreed closing her menu, to signal that she was ready to order. "So... question for you, did you have any ill effects from yesterday? That was some rather potent music, not to mention... rather fun."

"It was...interesting. I'm used to picking up a hum of background thoughts, but to see them take shape and form, then dance around the enclosure was not something I'll forget." Neither were the lingering thoughts about a certain dance partner. But that was something she would keep firmly locked away so they didn't get her in trouble.

"You and Rhu danced very well together, and he is rather handsome." Giving an impish smile and wink to Katya. "I know he makes my heart go aflutter. I think it is his charisma besides his looks. " she looked towards the rest of the restaurant, taking a look at the people that were there eating. Amy took notice that those who she could see, seemed to be enjoying their food and each other's company. "it seems so strange being here." Amy said softly mostly to herself.

"It's not just his looks. Starfleet has far too many good looking officers," Katya admitted, feeling herself blush. "But yes, there's definitely something about him that's...special." Had she just admitted that out loud? But just because she was attracted to him didn't mean he felt the same way. It was more likely he agreed to dance with her out of politeness.

Needing to discuss something besides their mutual attraction to the captain, she latched on to Amy's last comment. "Why does it seem strange to be here?"

"I was mentally comparing my temporary life on Vinderous III to what it is now the setting of it all. Here I am sitting in a restaurant eating food, amongst other people, in a civilized setting. I am talking to a fellow crew member, on the beginning of what I hope to be a friendship and honestly, it feels very lovely."

The waitress arrived with the requested drinks interrupting Amy's thoughts. " I do believe we are ready to order. "I would like a French Onion soup, as well as a Greek Salad. Dessert will be Devil's Food Cake, with some ice cream to go with it."

"I'll have the French onion soup with a chef salad." It was hard to decide, but the French onion did sound good. "And the white chocolate cake with chocolate icing and vanilla ice cream." She smiled her thanks as the waitress left, then turned to Amy. "I know white chocolate isn't really chocolate, but it still tastes good, thus verifying that I'm not a typical Betazoid." She wasn't a typical anything, but that would become apparent before long.

"I never consider anyone a typical person, be they any race that they are. Okay so, there is a prevalence that some say, Betazoids have a strong desire for dark chocolate. Now if you prefer white chocolate to the dark chocolate there is no judgement from me." Amy smiling.

The waitress left quietly, to put in their order, leaving the ladies to talk further. Amy poured herself some tea, wrapping her hands around the cup to enjoy the sensation of its warmth.

"I like dark chocolate--especially if it has chili pepper in it--but I like all forms of chocolate. And ice cream. And trifle." Katya laughed. Was a fondness for desserts a Betazoid trait? Probably. At least most of the women she knew were fond of it. "I'm also fond of white cake and vanilla ice cream. But both are better with a touch of chocolate." Which is why she also enjoyed exercising.

"If someone were to put in front of me, giving me a choice between chocolate cake or a triple berry pie, I would choose the pie. And with it I would insist upon a scoop of vanilla ice cream" giving a grin. Amy leaned back against her chair. having another drink of her tea.

Kat grinned and nodded in agreement.

The waitress arrived with the two orders placing the food upon the table.

"Thank you." Amy speaking to the waitress.

Amy picked up her fork to begin eating her salad.

The conversation stopped as they both focused on the food. Then Katya asked, "What do you like to do in your spare time?"

"I like to play the flute, and also play the violin. I love to read. I have three books that I travel with. They are a little bit dogeared with as much as I read from them. Sure, I can read books on my padd, but just feeling the weight of the book in my hand, it feels very nice. One of the books that I love reading is the Scarlet Pimpernel. The second one is Don Quixote and the third book is about acupressure points for massage therapy.

"I've seen vids of the movie and the musical, but I haven't read the book. I should do that." She paused to eat before adding. "I play the flute, too. And the fiddle and lyre. Maybe we could play together some time."

"I would be delighted to do so. It’s been awhile since I've played a duet with someone. Most definitely yes. I spent six months without playing an instrument, hiding what I knew how to do. I am looking forward to getting back into playing. I am certain they are missing me." Amy chuckling. "What do you like to do in your spare time besides playing your musical instruments?"

"I dabble in a number of things. I like to carve little animals. And cook. I also like to read." She shrugged. "Sometimes doing a diagnostic requires you to babysit the computer. As long as I work over a receptacle of some sort, I can work on something. Or just sit and read. Playing and singing generally requires me to be alone somewhere."

"Especially when the acoustics are really good. I like to find a place that has the perfect acoustics and sing." Amy went silent as she ate a few more bites of food. Lowering her fork, "What do you think about what our mission or missions may entail? It’s been a little bit since I've worked with a team, which I don't mind. And I truly feel that we can work together."

"I think we can, too. I haven't worked with intel specifically, but as a singer you learn to play a part." Katya shrugged. "And I think my knowledge of communications and transporters can be useful." A cheeky grin spread across her face. "If you know how to fix something, the reverse is often true."

"And that is a very important thing to know. I do work with tools myself, and tinker with different items. A person never knows when they end up being by themselves and have to fix something. I do know though that it would have been rather lovely if I had someone as skilled as you." Amy giving a grin.

"I'm a born tinkerer. I like to think that can be useful in some places." Kat grinned. "Like knowing your way around the Jefferies' Tubes. There are some spots where the acoustics are amazing."

" I wonder how Rhu would think if he heard music from the Jefferies tube on his ship. A Defiant class ship." Amy's eyes dancing with amusement at the thought. "Oh, wonder if there is something like that on Empok Nor. Need to find out where that is."

Katya smiled sheepishly. "I already warned him that I have a habit of singing while I work--even in the Jefferies' Tubes. So, he can't be too surprised." Whether or not he approved of it was another matter. But he didn't tell her no, so she expected she'd be singing at some point. In truth, if he did tell her no, she'd likely forget because she tended to get wrapped up in her work.

"And Rhu is probably finding out that he has quite the collection of crew members. Or has already pegged as us being just what he needs. Either way, I feel that we've got a good crew for the ship." it felt nice to be a part of a team once more. And Amy was feeling like she could count on those here to have her back. It gave her mind some ease.

"We're quite the mix." Kat wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not, because she'd only met those who were at Club Neverwinter, and her memories were a little hazy about some of them. "But I trust Rhu, which, by extension, includes his crew." She laughed and shook her head. "I know, I have to have faith in them because they wouldn't be here otherwise, right?" And she did. Trust but verify.

"Yes we are. Like a box of different kinds of chocolates in a box." Amy grinned. "And speaking of chocolate, lets finish our food and get to our rich reward, our desserts. My mouth is already watering at the thought of it. " Amy giggling before she set to work on the rest of her meal. Good company, and good food, leading to a great dessert. A little piece of heaven in her eyes.
