Mission: Missing!
Location: USS Valiant - Bridge
Timeline: MD001 15:25 hrs

Tieria entered the bridge. She was annoyed. First her alarm clock didn't go off. She missed her meeting with her new CO because she was sleeping. Not all of her access codes were up to date. She had to bypass the computer just to open the door to the bridge. And to top it off the replicator made her skant a little too short for her taste. Normally it was two inches above her knees instead it was missing about a foot of fabric. Thankfully her tights were on just fine but it was still awkward. If she hadn't taken so long to get the details of her make-up just right she might have made it in time for her shift. She hadn't realized she was just standing in the doorway of the bridge as commotion was going on.

Curtis saw motion out of the corner of his eye and half turned his head as he saw someone entering the bridge. He recognized the Andorian from her service file and said, "Lieutenant zh'Erde I presume? If not, you are indeed lost and I'll have to have another word with security." He noticed her uniform situation and filed it for later.

"Yes sir, I'm Lieutenant zh'Erde the new helmsman. I'm sorry I overslept sir." Replied the young Andorian officer.

Rianna was busy with her deep scans when she felt the presence of a new officer. Looking up she saw the Andorian, "Welcome aboard Lieutenant", she said quickly.

"Thank you," she replied without turning away from her XO. Permission to take my station sir?"

Something clicked in Day's head, when she had heard the name of the officer that just entered the bridge she got a nagging feeling, then when she saw them move to the flight control panel she realised why that was, "Lieutenant zh'Erde, my apologies, I received your transfer information this morning. Something came up, I'm not sure if your rank and position permissions have been added to the systems yet. I'll make sure to have the Quartermaster assign them to you, post-haste." It was rare for something to slip her mind, but with the excitement of this morning she was now rewarded with the experience of a feeling she was rather unfamiliar with.

Amid the explosions on the station Rianna was trying to get a lead on the type of explosives as they were going off. It was not an easy task at all.

"It seems like something serious is happening, is there anyway I can help?"

Curtis gestured toward the helm station and said, "Post, Lieutenant. Depending on the emergency, Valiant may be ordered to clear the station and that will require a helms person. Get yourself familiarized and stand by."

He considered for a moment longer, then said, "In fact," he paused briefly, touching controls on the chair and activated the ship's blower followed by a klaxon which sounded through the Valiant, "Yellow Alert! Recall all of crew save those aiding the Captain. I want the ship ready to leave port soonest with all stations manned."

Tieria smirked and made her way to the helm. She sat at the station and pressed her hand on the console. After a few seconds her biometrics were accepted. She quickly began to reconfigure the layout of the controls to her preferences. Being left-handed, she wanted to make the controls easier for her dominant hand. It took her less than a minute to reconfigure the controls.

Day, as if in an afterthought, initiated the yellow alert protocol, the lights flicked to their orange hue to indicate the change in readiness and an alert went out to all the people on board and those that were on the station and not currently involved with the Captain's situation.

Tieria contacted the station's Ops and got emergency clearance for the Valiant to depart. "Sir, we have clearance to depart when ready. The station is requesting permission to beam over our crew members?"

Curtis blinked and stared momentarily at the Valiant's new helms person. "Belay that, Lieutenant. Tell Ops we're standing by, not departing. Our Captain is still aboard. We'll only clear the station if they declare it vital we do so. Our crew can make their way here via foot. Hasty," he said, glancing over his shoulder, "Man the lock, checking to make sure everyone gets home and I want them writing reports on what they saw of the explosions and anything odd that they may have noted."

The Valiant's COB nodded and moved to the companionway, exiting the bridge as Curtis looked back. "I'm not too proud to ask, am I forgetting anything?"

"A security sweep of the Valiant might be prudent, seeing as the explosions were placed in some high security areas of the starbase we would have to assume whoever put them there has clearance to get on board." Day looked around and saw one of the junior officers give a shocked expression, she focused back on the XO, "They already targeted our commanding officer, it is not a stretch to assume they might have targetted the vessel itself as well."

Curtis's face froze for a moment, then he nodded. "I ... that's a very good idea, Lieutenant." Turning to the ships security officer, the XO said "Lieutenant Creed, get your teams to start a level three diagnostic sweep of Valiant looking for anything out of the ordinary, if you will. Draft some engineering people to lend a hand, that should make things go faster."

"My teams are already looking Sir," replied Lisa as she looked back at the Valiant's Executive officer, " I already sent them out whilst Day was talking," as she knew that if the explosions on the base were anything to go by it was prudent enough to make sure the ship didn't have any bombs on board. she finished," I have all decks on alert and every crewmember is assisting with the security details on every deck,"

"Very well," Curtis said, nodding his approval. "Lets get this done."
