Mission:
Diplomacy by any means necessary.
Location: The brig
Timeline: After the crimescene post
Natan walked in to the brig room with the young counselor on his tail. The brig room wasn't that big. They were on a small ship after all. He smiled friendly as he introduced the counselor, "Lieutenant, this is Ensign Barjel Teza. She is our ship's counselor. She will be here to check on you medically and physically. I am here to talk to you about the situation we found you in. Are you feeling up to talk to me."
He pulled in a chair and sat down.
Meanwhile Teza had taken out a medical tricorder and walked inside the brig after she removed the force field. "It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am. I am just going to make preliminary scan for the doctor, I am sure you don't mind." She started to scan the Operations chief.
Day had just been sitting idly in the corner of the room. She was allowed a restricted PADD with preselected offerings of fiction and non-fiction writings. She couldn't really focus on any of it and had started new books on three separate occasions when the two came into the brig and introduced themselves. She got up from the bench and stepped towards the forcefield, "by all means, Commander," she then made a conscious effort to face the counsellor, "Ensign."
Teza gave a nervous smile and then said, "How are you feeling, Lieutenant? Can I get you anything to make you comfortable?"
"You can get me out of here, that would be nice," Day wasn't really in the mood for the pampering words if she already knew it wasn't going to change anything about the situation that she was in and the implication that they were making, "other than that, I do not require any additional comforting."
Teza looked at Natan a moment. He just smiled at her, "It's alright, Ensign, just do what you came here to do then." He then turned to Lieutenant Smith. "As for you, Lieutenant, I do believe that you really believe you haven't done this. So I would like to know everything that has happened, and I really mean everything. Don't leave out any detail."
Teza moved a little backwards and just pulled out her padd and started making notes as she observed the captain and the operations chief.
"I have been over this with the security chief, and the XO. I was called to come to the shuttle bay, that is the last thing I remember." Day felt the cold sweat accumulating on her back again, "that is until I came back to consciousness in the shuttle itself, the Ambassador killed with a strong thin wire around the neck cutting off the oxygen flow," she frowned a bit remembering the sight, "it seemed like a lot of excessive force was used."
"Hold on..." Natan said as he listened. "Look I understand you went through this with the Security chief and the XO, I trust their judgement, but I like to hear this for myself from you. Now back up a bit. You were called to the shuttle bay, who called you there?"
"Oh... the... ehm." Day her face crumpled up a bit, she couldn't recall, "I don't know." Her breathing became irregular, panic starting to set in. Whoever had done this to her had made damn sure that she wasn't going to be able to defend herself against the allegations, "I was reading a logistics report, trying to determine what resupplies we'd need when we arrived at our destination." Her eyes narrowed, she was getting sick to her stomach, "I remember the PADD indicating an incoming communication." No matter how hard she focused on this she couldn't remember who it was, or what they had talked about. "Then I woke up in the shuttle, with a very nasty headache."
Natan could tell she was getting uncomfortable. He turned over to Teza who was looking at the medical tricorder. She looked up at him and shook her head looking worried. He turned to Day again. "Alright, Lieutenant, I think that's all I need." He got up and put his hand on her shoulder comforting. "You go try get some rest. No need to stress you our any further."
He walked out the brig with Teza on her tail. AS they got in the hallway he whispered to Teza. "This isn't good."
Teza didn't know what to say and just nodded before they both turned around the corner and left.
