[CONTINUED FROM PART I]

"I can feel the vibrations through out the body, and it seems to be making more of a connection between the two of us." Amuy having closed her eyes for the moment. "The vibrations are uh, making an intersection where it is connecting the natural energy we put out from our bodies. I can see a sort of outline of you with my closed eyes. I know that may sound a bit weird but, its a bit of my own perceptions. And yes a bit of a sensation, almost like the head is being hit with a strong drink" Amy giving out a little bit of a giggle. "Effervescent bubbly feeling." Not daring to let go of Rhu.

A few more movements Amy let go of Rhu, deciding to have a go on her own. Her mind kicked in her own dance music list, which seemed to match the beat of the music being played in the club. Well atleast in her mind. Old Earth, disco music. Hey this means she can fly! This was making a dream come true, dancing in the air. First song was Boogie Wonderland. She floundered just a small amount then she got the hang of it, laughing freely. Her shoulders shook, her hips moved in time to the music in her mind then for some reason, Walk like An Egyptian kicked in. Her movements became more energetic, step spin, spin all the more tightly in one place much like an ice skater. the skirt of her dress billowing out like a flower. Slowly she rose upwards, feeling her head spin a bit more, at the end of the song. Amy didn't know when she had been so high like this, maybe this was the first time. She felt rather drunk, a flash of a grin towards someone, she wasn't certain or was it to a smiling flower. At any rate, it was time for her to get back to the table.

Rhu could taste the music. Apparently the particular tune they were playing tasted like green. It's the only thing that made sense to him in that time. At that moment. Then it occurred to him that the music was stoping and locking him into a particular moment between notes. Between heart beats. He could taste the green and it was fizzy. Part of his mind was trying to sort it and another part of his brain told him to just let it go: stop trying to analyze the experience and join with it.

He did that and for the next while (he didn't know how long) he became the music. And the color green. His mind began re-boot eventually and he found himself floating upside down near the space he'd rented for the outing, like some bat going to rest.

Rhu righted himself and gingerly felt his way back to his seat, rubbing at his face as he realized he'd been upside down more than just a minute. Glancing about, he noted his officers spread about the club and space, most seemed to be enjoying themselves in one way or another. His gaze focused on his drink and he spent an agonizing amount of time making sure he picked the tumbler up, experiencing the touch of the glass against his skin and then the taste of the beverage as it and the glass encountered his lips and the liquid slid down his throat.

It was like tasting it. Or anything for the first time again and part of his brain found that disquieting. As he recovered, more of his self came back. "Well that was an experience. Don't know if I could do that day in and day out though," he said. Maybe to himself and maybe to anyone that was listening.

"Did Daynah go out and dance did she stay here to watch?" Amy uttering her thoughts outloud. Looking around to see where the XO was at. She turned back towards Rhu, "Er what was that? Nope this is something I wouldn't want to experience day in and day out."

Jayden just sat on chair hugging the wall sipping his drink. The alcohol had gone completely to his head. He just watched the others, and just holding tight to his drink. He had never been so fond of all these socials gatherings. He did so much better one on one, in his counseling sessions."

Katya received a notification when she arrived on Empok Nor that the senior staff was meeting at a club called Neverwinter Nights. While she'd never met any of them before, she'd looked over their personnel files on the shuttle so she'd at least recognize them when she arrived. She was torn, at first. Would they appreciate the newbie showing up for their social gathering, or would it be more like gatecrashing?

She considered her options for several minutes as she arranged for her personal items to be sent to her new quarters on the ship. Then, making up her mind, she changed into a sapphire blue wraparound dress that hugged her hips before falling softly to just above her knees. She chose black heels and a black bracelet that wrapped around her wrist in the shape of a dragon, then made her way to the club, hoping this would not be a mistake.

Getting in was a bit more difficult, but when she told them who she was meeting, a perky waitress escorted her across the floor and past a number of dancers gyrating in the air above them. As she passed, she could both feel and taste the amplified thoughts of those above her, which was both enticing and enervating. Finally, she was led to where a group of officers sat around a table. She immediately recognized the two commanders. "Hi. I'm Katya Davi. I hope you don't mind if I join you."

Amy had looked towards where Jayden was, all by himself. Why wasn't he closer? "Daynah are you going to go out and dance? How about you, er Jayden?" she called out loudly in order to be sure she could be heard. Then someone appeared at the table. Amy gave a drunken smile, the first thing she noticed was that fabulous sapphire dress the woman had on, "Dang that is a beautiful dress. Hiya, I'm Amy and this is Daynah, Then there is Rhue." motioning towards each of them as she mentioned them by name. "That man over there is Jayden." giving a rather hearty wave towards him, once more. "And I don't know where Parker went he was here a few moments ago or did he even make it?" looking about wondering what happened to him. "Then there is me. I am Amy Gordon." moving to make some room at the table. "I take it you are newly arrived. Welcome to the party." she also motioned for another round of drinks for the table.

Katya was beginning to feel a little awkward. Maybe she shouldn't have crashed their party. "Thank you. Yes, I just arrived and was told you were meeting here." She smiled at each of the officers as they were introduced. "I'm in operations." She tucked her hair behind one ear, debating if she should sit or not. She glanced at Commander Tyree, then back to Amy.

"Aw c'mon. This, right now, is a well deserved little party to let us relax after our last trip. It was a bit intense. Have a seat, have a drink. Enjoy the music. Its a rather interesting experience to go dancing in the air. And honestly we don't bite, unless you want us to." giving a chuckle and a wink. Amy's demeanor changed slightly though, having noticed the signs of Katya might be feeling a bit awkward. "Sometimes a person needs to just let their hair down and enjoy the moment."

Amy was right. Katya was feeling a bit out of her element. She glanced at the captain again and sat down. "Thank you," she said to Amy. Then her gaze drifted to the dance floor. "That," she said, gesturing to it with her hand, "reminds me of an old science fiction book I read when I was on Earth."

Rhu noted that his new Ops officer had joined them and he was glad for that. Where they were all likely going, they'd need to be able to function in new, evolving environments on a regular basis. He could see the new brunette was slightly apprehensive.

His drink tasted new again and he could tell the buzz from the dance...area? It wasn't a floor. Was still moving through his system. It wasn't an unpleasant feeling and he decided to go with it. Slipping to his feet he made his way over and said, "Lieutenant Davi, welcome aboard Valiant. I'm glad you joined us. I'm officially suspending the typical proprieties required by Fleet, so all of you can call me Rhu or Rhupert tonight as you like."

Smiling at all of them with a glance he turned to glance around the nightclub again and said, "In a few minutes, I think I may be ready for another churn. Anyone want to join?"

Jayden just shyly waved to the girls and clutched on to his drink. Again, he was good with one on one conversations, just not so much at social gatherings like this. Not to mention the music and the emotions going around, were a bit overwhelming. And he knew he would probably crash in his bed tonight with the mother of all headaches and wake up with a hangover the size of Empok Nor.

Katya smiled. "Thank you, Rhu. Since we're being informal, call me Katya. I'm happy to be here." She looked at the dancers. She wasn't sure if it reminded her more of a three-dimensional mosh pit or an anti-grav dance floor. "I'd like to join you. That looks...interesting." She liked music and she liked dancing, so she was curious to see what it felt like.

Daynah watched as Katya and the Captain made their way out to the dancefloor. She wanted to join them however, when she took one step she became overtaken by an intense pain in her head. This was more than a mere headache. Not only did she feel it but Ral felt it too. Daynah decided that she would do better to leave and so she hobbled her way out of the club. Exceedingly unsteady on her feet.
